Amazons are beautiful warrior women whose origins are lost in mystery. Maybe their civilization was created by a god who loved female warriors, or maybe they are the women who rebelled against the male and decided to rule themselves, or they are part of a matriarchal society which dates back to prehistory.
Whatever their origin, now amazons live in communities where women are chiefs, governors, generals, warriors, while men are cooks, serfs, houseworkers and simple workers, or even slaves without rights or property of the women. In some communities, when a boy is born, his arms and legs are broken to prevent him fighting and travelling; in other communities men were totally eliminated. Amazons belonging to this last type of society sometimes assault nearby regions to make friends with the males, or they treat very well strangers in their lands. When they are tired of them, they send them away or kill them. These matriarchal societies can be large or small, hostile or friendly. Amazon women can seem rude, uneducated, arrogant or tyrannic to male cultures. The amazons of legend were fierce fighters and famous horseriders, and breeders of wonderful horses. For these reasons, many amazons prefer light armor, weapons and equipment.

Hit points, THAC0, saving throws
To define hit points, amazons roll d10 (+3 HP after 9th level); for THAC0, ST and level progression it follows the same rules as a warrior. Characters of this type have the same bonuses for constitution and exceptional strength as fighters.

Multiclass combinations
The player can choose a multiclass character: amazon/mage (amazons reject the dark forces linked to the school of necromancy and they despise illusionism, for its inefficiency in battle), amazon/cleric (amazons only believe in warrior and hunt gods), amazon/thief.

Traits and proficiencies
The amazon uses the same weapon and nonweapon proficiencies as the warrior.
Weapon skills: the amazon has 8 CP to spend in these skills. She can choose battle axe, bow (any), axe (any), studded staff, club, knife, javelin, lance, horseman lance, dagger, sword (any). Suggested: lance, bow (any), axe (any), sword (any), lance (any). The amazon can only specialize in these weapons.
Non weapon proficiencies: The amazon has 6 character points to spend in these skills. Bonus: Ride land creatures, Animal training. Suggested: Animal handling, Ride, Engineering, Rope use, Animal lore, Hunt, Run, Survival, Tracking, Resistance, Set traps, Make armors, Make bows/arrows, Herbalism, Heal (they cost one less CP).
Traits: Seduce, Animal Empathy, Acute Senses, Ecleptic culture.

Equipment
Amazons can start the game only with the following types of armor: shield, leather, studded leather, scale, skin, bar, brigandine, or bronze plate armor. The amazon can obtain a better armor only after having ventured in other cities.

Magical items
The amazon can use the magical items of fighters.

Class skills
The amazon receives 55 CP to buy class skills. Unspent CP can be saved for nonweapon proficiencies or kept for use in game,

Train animals (5): The amazon receives the Animal Training proficiency, and the skill automatically improves by +1 every 3 levels. For example, a 10th level amazon improves her Train Animals skill by +3.

To hit bonus, bow (5): the amazon with this skill receives a +1 to hit bonus when using any bow.

To hit bonus, lance (5): the amazon receives a +1 to hit bonus when using any lance.

Attack bonus (5): Males who never met the strong Amazons usually underestimate them: the first time an Amazon faces a male in fight, she has a +3 bonus on to hit and damage rolls. This is only true for the first hit, and it reflects the surprise of the foe. The bonus isn't always valid; there are the following limitations:
There is no bonus if the characters is 5th level or more (he is too expert for these tricks).
It is not valid is the foe comes from a society in which female warriors are common.
IT isn't valid if the enemy has already met female warriors, he has them as comrades or has already seen them fight with someone else.
It is not certain that all characters deserve this: the DM should briefly ask some questions to understand if they would undervalue a female warrior.

1d12 for hit points (10): Instead of rolling 1d10 to determine starting and subsequent hit points, the amazon rolls 1d12.

Defensive bonus (10): +2 to AC if she isn't wearing any armor and has no encunbrance.

Command (5): The ability of commanding a large number of troops in battle. The amazon can direct up to 100 soldiers per level. She knows how to use messengers and soldiers, is at ease with military talk and can comprehend the manouvers needed to move a large number of troops.

Build (5): It's the knowledge of the method used to build heavy war machines and siege towers.

Animal empathy (10): it works as the ranger skill of the same name.

War machines (5): It's the knowledge of the working of heavy siege war machines such as ballistas, catapults, rams and siege towers.

Improved movement (5): the movement factor of the amazon is 15 instead of 12.

Move silently (10): An amazon with this skill has the possibility of Moving Silently as a thief. This chance is equal to her Dexterity score plus her level. For example, an 8th level amazon with Dexterity 17 has a 25% chance of moving silently. The amazon can't wear any armor heavier than studded leather. In case she is wearing heavier armors, consult the "Armor ability modifiers" table.

Spell resistance (5): Amazons with this skill gain a +1 bonus on all saves versus spells.

Magic resistance (10): The amazon has a 2% magic resistance per level. For example, at 9th level she has a magic resistance of 18%.

Poison resistance (5): she gains a +1 to all saves versus poisons.

Followers (5/10): purchasing this skill, the amazon can attract followers as detailed in the Player's Handbook is she owns at least a fortress and is at least 9th level. If she chooses the 10 points ability, the amazon can attract followers as soon as she can estabilish a fortress, no matter her level. For more details on followers, it is useful to consult the section about fighters in the Player's Handbook.

Multiple specialization (10): This skill can be chosen instead of the 5 point single specialization ability. The amazon with this skill can specialize in any weapon. The CP cost for each specialization must be respects.

Single specialization (5): The amazon can specialize in any one weapon. The cost to actually buy the specialization must be added.

Supervisor (5): It's the skill of controlling the works on defenses such as digs, tunnels, fence fields, and quickly build barricades in stone or wood. With time, the amazon can even control the construction of semipermanent fortifications.

Optional restrictions
An amazon can obtain more CP, to spend in class skills, by accepting optional restrictions. These are detailed here:

Limited armor choice (5/10/15): An amazon with this restriction has limitationson the type of armor she can choose. If the character chooses to limit herself to chain mail or lighter armor, this restriction is worth 5 CP; if she chooses to only use studded leather or lighter armors, she gains 10 CP; if she decides not to wear any armos, this restriction is worth 15 CP (the character can still use shield.)

Limited magical items (5+): An amazon with this restriction doesn't rely on magic and rejects certain categories of magical items. For each forbidden category, she obtains 5 CP. Categories are: potions, oils and scrolls; rings, staves, wands, rods and miscellaneous magical items; weapons; armors.

Disadvantages
Amazons suffer a -3 penalty on reactions when they are in NPC male dominated societies. With the passing of time, this penalty should be lessened or ignored if the NPCs get used to their authoritarian ways.
